Ayzenberg is a large Branding
firm located in Pasadena.
Working with Corsini Architects
we fabricated the company's
reception area and new
accounting offices. The
reception area incorporated a
built in bench reception desk
clad in COR laminate. This is a
green laminate made with 1/8"
thick veneers of cross-cut
engineered beams.
The design specified by the
architect was facaded and
flowed from one end of the
room to the other. Built-in
cut-outs for magazines and
papers where incorporated into
the bench. The size and length
of the bench necessitated that
most of the project was
fabricated on-site.
Built-in inserts for media will
incorporated into the bench and
maintained the flow of the design.
The bench transitioned
into a reception desk with
a cantilever. In addition a
steel I-beam sat in the
middle of the desk. It
took considerable effort
to conceptualized how to
fabricate this piece and
even more skill to execute
the finished piece.

Close-up of the desk area shows the care taken to
line-up the finished edges. The piece was
completely finished before installation so there was
no room for mistakes.
Although the design of the accounting
office was simpler there were many
challenges. Custom made brackets
designed to the wall's 8 degree angle
support a baltic birch and laminate top.
Custom brackets also support the
work surface around the I-beam.
The plans for the accounting office
were less detailed allowing us the
opportunity to design most of the
pieces. Here a large workspace is
supported by a stretcher and custom
support.
